"I received a technology scholarship this year and want to thank you and all the people that are helping me learn more about technology. When I grow up I want to do something in the lines of building houses or construction, and learning all I can now at UCA is very important to me. Right now I am taking welding and basic technology classes. In welding I am doing very well and enjoy it very much. I have already welded things for my teacher to help out. This summer I am hoping to find a job that will utilize what I am learning this year at UCA in my technology classes. Thank you again for helping me."
"Music has always been a big part of my life! Here at UCA, I am able to maximize my musical potential by participating in choir, piano, and band. One of the things I enjoy most is playing in a band. Originally I played trombone, but I picked up the tuba after hearing about the scholarship opportunities for tuba (the band was also "conveniently" in need of another tuba player!) Words cannot express the fulfillment I've received from playing with the academy's band this year! Thanks to your support, my school bill can be a little lighter and at the same time I can enjoy playing tuba. Please accept my gratitude and thanks! You make a big difference for our school!"
"I want to thank you so much for helping me go to UCA. It has been a dream of mine to go to UCA but I knew I would never be able to go without financial help. It is awesome to sit in my classes and tell myself "I'm at UCA!" I have made a lot of great friends and I love all the teachers. I want to become a veterinarian and am able to take classes to help me achieve my goals. I love the dorm life; I have learned a lot from it and have made some really close friends. I am also a class officer -- it is so much fun and I love helping to plan stuff! I am also on the junior varsity basketball team, and joined the local Pathfinders club. I am keeping very busy and am loving every minute of it. Thanks so much for making my dreams come true and alive!"
"Thank you so much for all your support that you have granted to me through your financial help with the worthy student scholarship which I have received. I really appreciate all of the help and time consuming things you do in order to help me and my classmates. It has been a true blessing from God that a lot of people have been willing to help me. If it wasn't for people like you that care about Christian education, I would not be at UCA. Thank you very much. You have made a difference in my life and I hope to do the same for others in the future. May God bless you."
"First and foremost I'd like to thank everyone that plays a part in giving this scholarship that is giving me this wonderful opportunity to attend UCA. I couldn't ask for more. It has been a great blessing being here. I love the environment, the staff, the students, my surroundings. It is just an awesome feeling and I am very blessed to have such an opportunity to be at UCA. If it weren't for you all -- who knows (only God does, I guess). It has been a long and stressful journey to attend UCA but it has all been worth it. I want to aim high and focus on what is right. Being here at UCA has been my "big break" and I can't thank my UCA Foundation enough for helping to make it happen. I ask that God continues to bless you all in any way possible and that you know your work is greatly appreciated by all that receive this huge blessing. Please keep up the good work and may God bless you."
"I don't know how to exactly tell you "thank you." Let's put it this way, I would not be here if it weren't for the scholarship that I received this year. I really like it here and hope to be back next year. Thanks for all you have done for me. Thank you."
"I am delighted that I received a scholarship from you. When I opened the letter, I jumped for joy and the first people I told were my parents! This scholarship is one of the most amazing gifts I have received in my entire life. This school means the world to me because not only do I go here, I also wouldn't be going here if it wasn't for my scholarships. This school has made me grow more in my spiritual life. Since I first came here my sophomore year I have been in choir, art, and have been to the most spectacular activities ever. One of these spectacular activities includes Fire Bowl Vespers where we gather around a camp fire and sing to the Lord our God and King. I love to sing. That is why choir and Fire Bowl Vespers are the two most amazing things here for me. When I sing, I sing with all my heart. I thank you for helping with financial aid and not only that, but helping me keep on track and not have to worry day in and day out about not being here."
"Thank you very much for providing this scholarship; it means so much to me. As a direct result of the scholarship, I was able to attend Upper Columbia Academy. I have really enjoyed my year so far. I have been able to play in the band, brass quintet, and horn quartet, all of which I would have greatly missed had I not attended UCA. All of the teachers are very supportive and helpful. Next year I am planning on majoring in engineering and receiving a minor in horn performance, and UCA has greatly helped me in getting ready for both of these goals. They have a good math program which made a huge difference for me. UCA is by far the best school I have ever attended and I am very glad to have been a part of it this year. I hope that in the future other students will have the same opportunity that I have had. Thank you very much."
"I am writing this letter because I am supported by a music scholarship which your Foundation generously offers. I play second trumpet in the UCA band and am currently serving as band chaplain. In February, I spoke as one of the fourteen Week of Prayer speakers. That experience in itself was incredibly amazing. I am currently living out of state but decided to come back to UCA this year. I literally saw the hand of God working in my life directing me to go to UCA. You definitely helped in that experience and I appreciate it very much. One of the reasons I came to UCA is because of the financial aid programs and music scholarships that are offered. Such programs helped convince my mom to make the "big decision." It truly was a dream come true. Attending UCA this year has been the best experience I have ever had in my life. This school hasn't only brought me closer to achieving a 4.0 GPA, it has also (and more importantly) brought me closer to Jesus Christ himself. I am truly looking forward to coming back to UCA next year. Thank you for all you have done to help me."
"I am a junior attending UCA for the third year. I hope to be a four year senior next year to finish off my high school experience. My parents have never been very well off and have struggled to put my brother and me through SDA Christian education all of our lives. Even though money has pulled tight at times, and my parents have wondered where the funds would come from, prayer has always won through. We have stayed in Christian education through all of our school-going years. This scholarship was yet another answer to prayer on the part of both myself and my parents. When my parents were planning to add my little brother to the list of UCA attendees, our money was looking to run dry. But the scholarship that I received came through just in time. The money helped more than you can imagine. So, I guess I just want to say "thank you."Thank you for your donations, for your prayers, and for thinking of others more than yourselves. Thank you."
